Walz blames bad grammar for lies about carrying weapons in war
When Democratic Party vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz was asked about why he mistakenly claimed to have carried weapons of war "in war," he bizarrely blamed the lie on bad grammar.
The question came during a CNN interview with Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday night.
"My wife the English teacher tells me my grammar is not always correct," he said, obscuring the fact that he has repeatedly claimed to have served "in war" when he never actually saw combat.
His original statement in 2018 was regarding gun control.
"We can make sure that those weapons of war that I carried in war is the only place where those weapons are at," he said even though he never served overseas, let alone in a war zone.
Walz further dodged the question by saying, "My record speaks for itself but I think as people are coming to know me I speak like they do. I speak candidly, I wear my emotions on my sleeves."
