There's standing up for Donald Trump, and then there's this.
It's safe to say that Vivek Ramaswamy is officially lapping the rest of the GOP field when it comes to how far he is willing to go to back up the former president.
He made headlines a while ago for claiming that if he wins the presidency, he will pardon Donald Trump on day one. He even called on other GOP candidates to do the same.
Now, he's taking it a step further and putting his money where his mouth is.
Ramaswamy is taking legal action against the Department of Justice for the way it has internally communicated and externally misled the public in the case of Trump.
The GOP hopeful announced his move on August 1:
I just filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice following its failure to substantively respond to my Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to uncover what White House officials including President Joe Biden communicated to Merrick Garland & Jack Smith about the unprecedented indictment in the classified documents case of a former U.S. President and one of Biden's political opponents in the 2024 Presidential election.
