Special forces veteran Joe Kent added to several early announcements of political candidacy when he shared his plans on Wednesday to run for Washington's 3rd congressional district in 2024.

“I’m excited to announce that I’m running for Congress to restore common sense values to SW Washington. Our woke congresswoman Marie Perez votes in lockstep w/ the radical left’s agenda that’s crushing working families,” he tweeted.

Kent ran for the seat in 2022 and lost to Perez by only 3,000 votes.

He retired as a Green Beret, and his Navy wife was killed in Syria as former President Donald Trump was attempting to get troops out of the area after meeting objectives there.

He is running on an America-first agenda and is against foreign entanglements.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has already endorsed Kent's candidacy.
