Vance largely on board with Trump's J6 prisoner pardon plans, despite claims of split

 January 14, 2025

Donald Trump and JD Vance may agree on a lot of things about the potential fate of the J6 rioters, but the Mirror is reporting that there could be a "very tense split" between Vance and Trump on the issue soon.

According to the source, Vance said that "those involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot "obviously" should not be pardoned on a blanket basis, particularly if they engaged in violence.

Some MAGA fans have pushed back against Vance, saying that ALL J6 prisoners should be pardoned no matter what.

"I’ve been defending these guys for years," Vance responded. "I assure you, we care about people unjustly locked up. Yes, that includes people provoked and it includes people who got a garbage trial."

Trump has promised to pardon the rioters on day one of his presidency, which begins on Jan. 20.

"Most likely, I’ll do it very quickly," Trump recently said about the pardons.

It's unclear to us if Donald Trump and JD Vance actually disagree on the issue of how to handle J6 prisoners, or if this is a case of a liberal publication trying to stir up some trouble where there isn't any.
