Vice President J.D. Vance had to move his family to an undisclosed location on Saturday after hundreds of Ukraine protesters swarmed the ski lodge where they were vacationing.

The incident follows a contentious meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Donald Trump as the leaders try to figure out how to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.

Signs called Vance a “national disgrace,” a “traitor” and suggested the family “go ski in Russia.”

Counter-protesters bearing "MAGA" signs also showed up, and the two sides got into a shouting match outside the ski resort.

Gov. Phil Scott (R) had cautioned residents to be "respectful" ahead of the Vance's visit, but his warning seemed to go unheeded.

“I hope Vermonters remember the Vice President is here on a family trip with his young children and, while we may not always agree, we should be respectful,” Scott said on Thursday. “Please join me in welcoming them to Vermont, and hoping they have an opportunity to experience what makes our state, and Vermonters, so special.”
