Trump's DOJ drops criminal cases against Mar-a-Lago staffers in classified docs case
Before he became president for the second time, Donald Trump scored a number of legal victories in the many legal cases against him, and that winning streak continued after he returned to the White House.
According to Fox News, Trump's Justice Department moved to drop all criminal proceedings against the Mar-a-Lago staffers who were charged in the classified documents case.
Former special counsel Jack Smith brought the classified documents prosecution against Trump and several co-defendants, only for the case to eventually fall apart like a wet paper bag.
Smith's investigations into Trump were halted immediately after his election win in November, causing Smith's career to go down in flames as the cases essentially dissolved.
However, the cases against the co-defendants remained in place -- at least until now.
The two co-defendants in the case, "Carlos De Oliveira, a Mar-a-Lago property manager, and Walt Nauta, a valet at the property, were charged alongside President Donald Trump in the classified documents case led by former Special Counsel Jack Smith," Fox News noted.
Obviously, Trump's win in November was probably the best news they've ever received in their entire lives, as it wasn't long before Trump's new DOJ moved to dismiss the remaining charges.

Many across social media celebrated the news as the final nail in the coffin as far as "political lawfare" is concerned.
"Finally ending the illegal lawfare by Biden's corrupt DOJ" one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "The DOJ spent years prosecuting Trump’s associates on weak charges, only to drop them later. This is how lawfare works: smear them in the press, tie them up in court, then quietly back off when forced to prove it in trial."
Others even pointed out that the fact that the DOJ relented with regard to the cases close to the election proves they were flimsy from the start.
"The Justice Department backing off shows how weak the case really was from the start," one X user commented.
Hopefully, this is the end of the political lawfare era in America.
