Trump's Attempt To Mock DeSantis Prompts Crowd Silence At Rally

 March 27, 2023

Donald Trump has been on a HUGE roll lately.

At least until a brief moment over the weekend.

Trump hasn't made many missteps since he declared his intent to run for president again, but he may have just made one on March 25.

He insulted Ron DeSantis. To a pro-Republican crowd.

We know that Trump doesn't like DeSantis because the Florida governor can't really help him right now. DeSantis getting any more popular would only threaten Trump's place at the top of the GOP standings, and Trump REALLY doesn't want that.

So, he's tried to knock DeSantis down a few pegs by insulting him.

At least on Saturday, it didn't work.

Trump treated the Waco, Texas crowd to a caricature impersonation of Ron DeSantis asking Trump for a previous endorsement. He said:

So, he came, and he really wanted my endorsement. I said, ‘You can’t win, can you? How do you – can you win?'

Trump then used his mocking voice to portray DeSantis:

Sir, if you endorse me, I’ll win. Please, please, sir, endorse me.

The crowd was NOT impressed. It will be interesting to see if Trump tries this tactic again moving forward.
