Trump visits Daytona 500 hours before horrific crash
If you love NASCAR, then the Daytona 500 is a huge deal to you.
If you love NASCAR AND freedom, then the 2025 Daytona 500 was probably the greatest day of your life.
Donald Trump was a fixture in the pre-race festivities. He rode in the armored "Beast" around Daytona International Speedway, serving as the pace car for the 41 entrants in the race.
While doing so, Trump had a special message that was broadcast to the drivers over their radios:

The Daytona 500 featured an amazing finish with William Byron claiming victory for the second straight year.
That doesn't mean the race was all sunshine and rainbows, though.
In addition to a multi-hour rain delay, there was a terrifying incident when the number 60 car, driven by Ryan Preece, took off like an airplane.
Driver Christopher Bell hit the wall and bounced back into the pack. The collision lifted the front of Preece's car into the air, but that wasn't it.
Incredibly, the car did a wheelie and then completely launched off the ground and flipped as though it was a paper airplane, not a two-ton behemoth.
Luckily, Preece survived the crash and continued NASCAR's streak of not losing a driver since Dale Earnhardt passed away in 2001.
"When the car took off like that and it got real quiet, all I thought about was my daughter," Preece said. "So I'm lucky to walk away but we're getting really close to somebody not being able to. So I'm very grateful."
