Trump: Arraignment Represented 'A Sad Day For America'

 August 5, 2023

Former President Donald Trump made his first public appearance after showing up to court to face charges brought against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith in regard to the events of Jan. 6, 2021.

Meeting with reporters outside the Reagan National Airport following his Aug. 3 court appearance, Trump said that it was "a very sad day for America." He added:

This is a persecution of a political opponent. This was never supposed to happen in America.

He's right.

This is the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Sure, we have rules. We are a civilized society. Trump is obligated to follow them, just as much as the next person.

But the rules that Democrats are accusing Trump of breaking?

They're nonsense. Every single allegation against Trump is either untrue, OR Joe Biden has been guilty of doing the exact same thing.

Why should Biden be walking free while Trump is dragged to court case after court case burning through his finances?

Trump was right.

This IS a witch hunt.
