Trump Team Celebrates Trial Date For Mar-a-Lago Case

July 23, 2023

Donald Trump and his team recently found quite the reason to celebrate:

The date of our former president's trial in his Mar-a-Lago documents case.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has decided to schedule Donald J. Trump's trial for May of next year had the Republican team VERY excited.

Cannon said that the trial would begin on May 30, 2024.

Donald J. Trump is facing 37 counts related to his alleged mishandling of documents after he left the office of America's presidency.

Special Counsel Jack Smith, an appointee of Attorney General Merrick Garland since last November, had hoped to begin proceedings on the case much earlier.

Trump's team announced that the trial date represented "a major setback to the DOJ’s crusade to deny President Trump a fair legal process."

The spokesperson added that the "extensive schedule allows President Trump and his legal team to continue fighting this empty hoax."
