Trump takes surprise lead with Jewish voters in deep-blue New York
Donald Trump isn't supposed to be winning anything in New York State, so it's a big deal that he's just taken the lead as the preferred candidate of one of its most important demographics, the Jewish community.
A recent poll conducted by the Siena Research Institute revealed that 50% of likely Jewish voters in New York support Trump, compared to 49% who support Kamala Harris.
Sure, Donald Trump isn't beating the pants off Kamala in this poll, but it's better than Trump had been faring against Joe Biden in the same poll.
Biden led Donald Trump 52% to 46% among Jewish likely voters before he dropped out of the race, presumably on account of his old age.
Democrats may have pulled off their plan to hold an early debate and then pull the plug on Biden, but this is at least one demographic group that did NOT like the switch.
New York's Jewish community is moving away from Democrats and starting to side with Trump. If the rest of New York State follows, we could be in for a VERY interesting election this November.
