Trump supporter Douglass Mackey convicted of election interference for spreading memes

Pro-Trump social media figure Douglass Mackey, who went by the name of "Ricky Vaughn," has been convicted of election interference for spreading memes during the 2016 presidential election.

United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace issued a statement saying, "Mackey has been found guilty by a jury of his peers of attempting to deprive individuals from exercising their sacred right to vote for the candidate of their choice in the 2016 Presidential Election."

Mackey was incredibly popular and had a massive 58,000 followers and was more influential than Stephen Colbert.

The DOJ accused Mackey of suppressing votes for Hillary Clinton by spreading memes saying voters could vote by text. One example read, "Avoid the Line. Vote from Home. Text ‘Hillary’ to 59925," and "Vote for Hillary and be a part of history."

Mackey could spend up to 10 years in prison and the case has exposed the undeniable political bias in our justice system.

Mackey was convicted thanks in part to a hyper-liberal Brooklyn jury that was determined to punish Mackey for his political beliefs. Mackey's case will likely be overturned but the message is clear, Trump supporters will face the full force of the law even as leftists walk free.
