Trump shooter became obsessed with sharpshooting ahead of rally: Report

The man who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13 became obsessed with sharpshooting in the months before the event.

Thomas Matthew Crooks went to a local gun range 43 times including three to six times a month in the year before the shooting.

The records from Clairton Sportsmen's Club were obtained by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) as part of the congressional investigation into the shooting.

According to the records, Crooks spent 80% of his range time doing rifle practice with long guns, as opposed to handguns.

Crooks spent he spent Christmas Day, Valentine's Day and Halloween at the club.

He also visited the club the day before the rally when the shooting occurred.
