President-elect Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Alina Habba, one of his personal lawyers who defended him in several criminal and civil cases, will be appointed to the position of counselor to the president.

That position was held during his first term by KellyAnne Conway.

Trump said that Habba has shown "unwavering loyalty" to him. She appeared at many of his campaign events, including his New York rally in Madison Square Garden.

She has been spending time at Mar-A-Lago with Trump and his team since the election.

"Few understand the Weaponization of the 'Injustice' System better than Alina," Trump said.

Habba was recently named Chaldean Woman of the Year for her accomplishments.
