Trump has slight lead over DeSantis in GOP primary poll

Former President Donald Trump is holding onto a slight lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a new GOP primary poll, according to Breitbart.

The Emerson College poll released Friday has Trump with 47% support and DeSantis at 44%.

With the poll's 2.8% margin of error, this result is virtually tied, and the rest of the poll is pretty bad news for Trump.

In hypothetical matchups in the state, Trump and Biden were tied at 44% each. In contrast, DeSantis led Biden 46% to 43%.

Again, it was a virtual tie if you consider the margin of error, but a better showing than Trump's.

Keep in mind that DeSantis is likely to get a bounce when he actually announces he is running for office, which is expected to be in May or June.
