A new Morning Consult poll released last week showed that former President Donald Trump not only leads the GOP presidential field by almost 30 points, but he also has the highest favorability ratings of any GOP candidate.

A majority of GOP voters, 53%, said they supported Trump as the GOP candidate for 2024. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis comes in second in the poll with 24% support.

But a much larger majority, 76%, viewed Trump favorably. DeSantis also had a healthy majority, 68%, that viewed him favorably. More voters viewed Trump unfavorably than DeSantis, 21% to 14%, but nine percent of voters had never heard of DeSantis, while all voters had heard of Trump, of course.

Notably, Trump's campaign is racking up endorsements as DeSantis waits to enter the race--even more than 20 endorsements in Florida, where both Trump and DeSantis live.

Florida Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) endorsed Trump last week, saying, “He’s the only person that can reverse on day one, all these disastrous policies of the Biden administration."

“I think the party is very unified,” Trump told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview with Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle. “I also think they’re looking at the polls now and they’re saying, ‘wow, that’s impressive.’ But we’re leading by so much and they’re seeing that.”
