Trump Facing Max Sentence Of 136 Years If Convicted

Donald Trump has learned the maximum possible sentence that could come from his 34 charges of "falsification of a business record," and America is shocked.

One-hundred-thirty-six years. That's a lot.

Under New York State Law, each charge is a "Class E" felony, which carries with it a maximum of a four-year sentence:

§ 175.10 Falsifying business records in the first degree.

A person is guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree when he commits the crime of falsifying business records in the second degree, and when his intent to defraud includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.

Falsifying business records in the first degree is a class E felony.

Of course, there is NO chance that all of these charges stick. It's the best that Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg can hope for to get just ONE of these things to work. That way, he will have accomplished his goal of branding Donald Trump a "convicted felon" for the rest of his life.

Trump has already pleaded not guilty to all 34 of the charges, and it would be a real shocker if he was convicted of any of them. Still, stranger things have happened in America -- such as a former president being recently indicted for the first time.
