Trump declares border invasion over as apprehensions hit historic lows

 March 2, 2025

President Donald Trump has declared that the "invasion of our country” is over after illegal immigrant apprehensions hit historic lows just one month into Trump's presidency.

New data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed that border patrol agents had just 8,326 apprehensions last month, which is the lowest monthly total on record.

This is down from the average of 300,000 apprehensions of illegal border crossers under former President Joe Biden, with many of those crossers released into the United States to await court hearings that many would never attend.

In a post to Truth Social, Trump stated, "The month of February, my first full month in office, had the LOWEST number of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter our Country in History -- BY FAR!”

Trump accomplished this by enacting nearly a dozen executive orders, many of which reversed his predecessor's border policies that outright encouraged illegal immigrants to enter the United States illegally.

The combination of aggressive deportation policies and new rules cancelling programs catering to illegal immigrants has allowed Trump to fulfill one of his biggest campaign promises. Now, Trump's next big goal will be deporting the millions of illegal immigrants let into the United States over the past four years.
