Trump campaign files complaint over UK Labour Party 'volunteers' for Harris campaign

Former President Donald Trump's campaign made news this week after it filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) over something that happened across the pond.

According to The Hill, it its complaint, the Trump campaign described the U.K. Labour Party’s efforts to support Vice President Harris as "election interference."

The Trump campaign accused VP Harris' campaign of "seeking foreign influence to boost its radical message."

Susie Wiles, co-manager of the Trump-Vance campaign, issued a statement regarding the complaint.

“In two weeks, Americans will once again reject the oppression of big government that we rejected in 1776. The flailing Harris-Walz campaign is seeking foreign influence to boost its radical message — because they know they can’t win the American people,” the statement read.

Wiles added, "President Trump will return strength to the White House and put America, and our people, first. The Harris campaign’s acceptance and use of this illegal foreign assistance is just another feeble attempt in a long line of anti-American election interference."

At issue is recent news that the U.K. Labour Party offered to send at least 100 current and former members to various U.S. battleground states in an effort to campaign for Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D).

It also cites a LinkedIn post from Sofia Patel, Labour’s head of operations, in which she said she would sort out the volunteers’ housing.

The Labour Party declined to comment, and it’s unclear whether it has been in touch with the Harris-Walz campaign about its plans.

The Trump campaign added in the statement, "When representatives of the British government previously sought to go door-to-door in America, it did not end well for them."

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that Labour Party members are "volunteering" and going to the U.S. to work with campaign volunteers.

“The Labour party…. volunteers, have gone over pretty much every election. They’re doing it in their spare time, they’re doing it as volunteers, they’re staying, I think, with other volunteers over there," U.K. media reports indicated.

Social media users weighed in on the news.

"All members of the labour party currently in the USA interfering in the election should be immediately detained and deported," one X user wrote.
