Donald Trump brought North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) to his rally in Wildwood, New Jersey on Saturday to introduce him, and hinted that he could be the former president's choice for a running mate.

"So, get ready for something, OK, just get ready," Trump teased.

Oddschecker.com now has Burgum at the top of the list of possible Trump VP choices, followed by Tulsi Gabbard, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, and New York Rep. Elise Stefanik.

Not even on the list: Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) or South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who wrote in a recent book that she once shot her 14-month-old hunting dog.

"And he was one of the candidates running, and it was sort of a large group, and sometimes you need controversy to get yourself known, and he's a very - he's not a controversial person, he's a very smart person, he's an outstanding person, who made a lot of money, ran for office, became the governor of North Dakota," Trump said at the rally.

"And the numbers there, the numbers that he's done there, the job he's done is unparallel," he continued. "And his wife is incredible. It's an incredible couple."
