Trump announces 16 key endorsements in Texas

March 27, 2023

Former President Donald Trump announced Saturday during a rally in Texas that 16 of the state's top lawmakers and officials have agreed to endorse him for the 2024 GOP nomination, including Attorney General Ken Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

The endorsements include 11 members of the U.S. House, with the top three being Reps. Ronny Jackson, Troy Nehls, and Rep. Wesley Hunt. Jackson was formerly Trump's White House physician and was instrumental in recruiting others from the House to support him.

Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, whom Trump's endorsement helped win in a tight primary race last year, is returning that support. Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, a longtime Trump ally, is also backing him for 2024.

Coach of the Republican congressional baseball team Roger Williams, also chair of the Small Business Committee, is also endorsing Trump.

Trump personally called and thanked all 16 who endorsed him, Breitbart reported.

The former president's Texas operation is even stronger than it was in 2015, and he continues to seek more endorsements.
