Trump and Harris dead even in battleground states in new CBS poll

If a new CBS News/YouGov poll is correct, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are dead even in most swing states, and the overall race is extremely tight after a surge in support for Harris.

In the poll, Trump led among voters whose top concerns are the economy, inflation, and illegal immigration at the U.S. southern border.

Trump and Harris each had 50% of the vote in the following swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

When the statistical model from the poll was updated, Trump led by one point in Arizona and two points in Georgia and North Carolina. He trailed Harris by one point in Michigan and remained tied in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

These numbers are all within the poll's 2.1% margin of error, but are they really accurate? One thing the poll leaves out is third party candidates, the strongest of which -- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. -- has polled at close to 10% of the vote.

Other polls taken recently have Harris leading Trump, with the exception of Rasmussen, a conservative polling outfit that has Trump leading Harris by 4%.
