Trump abruptly swaps pick for White House counsel
Donald Trump has always been one to act quickly, and the constantly changing list of names and faces around him are evidence of that.
Allies who were once considered inseparable from Donald Trump can be cast aside in an instant. Just ask Mike Pence.
The latest person to learn how quickly things can change in Donald Trump's administration is Bill McGinley, whom Donald Trump had previously selected to serve as White House counsel.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump suddenly decided to NOT move forward with McGinley as White House counsel, instead picking his campaign's general counsel, David Warrington.
McGinley is now scheduled to serve as counsel to the Department of Government Efficiency.
"Dave has represented me well as my personal attorney, and as General Counsel for my Presidential Campaign. He is an esteemed lawyer and Conservative leader," Trump said on social media.
Donald then addressed the change in plans for his former pick, McGinley:
"Bill will play a crucial role in liberating our Economy from burdensome Regulations, excess spending, and Government waste. He will partner with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to provide advice and guidance to end the bloated Federal Bureaucracy," Trump posted. "Bill is a great addition to a stellar team that is focused on making life better for all Americans. He will be at the forefront of my Administration’s efforts to make our Government more efficient and more accountable. Congratulations to Dave and Bill!"
