The trial of a man who tried to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is set to begin in June 2025.

Nicholas John Roske will face attempted murder of a Supreme Court justice charges before U.S. District Judge Peter Messitte.

Roske was found with a gun, knife and zip ties near Kavanaugh's home in June 2022 after he called 911 and said he wanted to take his own life. He could face life in prison if convicted on the charges.

He pleaded not guilty, but admitted to a police detective at the time of his arrest that he was angry about the leaked draft of the decision that overturned Roe V. Wade, the national legalization of abortion.

Roske also said he was upset over the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, and felt that Kavanaugh would vote to loosen gun laws.

He also posted comments online about killing Kavanaugh.
