Tim Walz could Kamala Harris Pennsylvania: Report
Vice President Kamala Harris shocked Americans with her decision to select Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate and in retrospect, her choice may have been a fatal mistake.
Walz has been an abject failure as Harris's running mate, which is impressive, considering the problems that Harris herself brings to the table. However, it is the other options Harris passed over in favor of Walz who are making this choice look so bad.
A new DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners poll found that Harris is tied with Donald Trump in Pennsylvania and that if she had picked Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running mate, she would be slightly ahead.
Either Shapiro or Mark Kelly from Arizona were seen as the best options for Harris due to their popularity in their respective states, both of which are considered swing states crucial to the outcome of the election.
Walz is a dubiously popular figure in a state that isn't likely to swing away from Democrats, but Shapiro or Kelly would have likely given Harris a much-needed edge in a state that will be heavily contested.
Right now, the momentum in Pennsylvania heavily favors Trump, while Arizona is ground zero for the immigration crisis, which voters consider a major issue this election. Putting aside Walz's personal and political failings, the strategy of the Walz pick is only looking worse as we draw closer to November.
