Terell Owens hit by car in California after basketball game

October 19, 2023

Pro Football Hall of Famer Terell Owens was hit by a car in the Calabases area of Los Angeles, California on Monday after playing a pickup basketball game, police in the city said.

Fox Digital reported that police think the incident was intentional and not an accident. It may have resulted from an argument with an unknown male during the game.

The male then got into a car and clipped Owens. He was not seriously hurt and refused medical attention after the incident.

Police said that when the person who hit Owens was arrested, he would be charged with "assault with a deadly weapon." As of Tuesday, though, no arrests had been made.

Owens, 49, spent 15 years in the NFL, playing wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
