Supreme Court upholds use of abortion drug mifepristone, robbing Biden of campaign talking point

 June 16, 2024

The Supreme Court issued a decision on Thursday unanimously preserving access to mifepristone, which was used in nearly two-thirds of all abortions in the U.S. last year.

While pro-choice advocates hailed the Supreme Court's decision as a huge victory, former President Donald Trump is also celebrating the decision as it deprives President Joe Biden of a major talking point going into November's election.

The Democrat Party is attempting to make the abortion issue a major one for Fall in an effort to distract from much bigger issues like the economy and immigration, areas in which Biden faces an uphill battle.

The Supreme Court's decision essentially solves the abortion question to an extent that will take the wind out of Biden's sails. It also blows up the Democrat Party's argument that the Supreme Court is ideologically driven.

Democrats have screeched about the conservative majority on the Supreme Court, but this decision proves that the conservative justices are still upholding the law and not deferring to ideological preferences.

While this decision may be a setback for the pro-life movement, it's a strategic victory that heavily damages Biden's plan going into the final stretch of the campaign.
