Supreme Court turns away 'Cowboys For Trump co-founder ousted from office over Jan. 6

Despite the exact same strategy working for former President Donald Trump, Couy Griffin was not so lucky.

If his name sounds familiar to you, it is because he founded the group called “Cowboys for Trump.”

The court determined that due to Griffin’s involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol unrest, he is not eligible to ever return to his role as commissioner in his local New Mexico office.

“We conclude that states may disqualify persons holding or attempting to hold state office. But states have no power under the Constitution to enforce Section 3 with respect to federal offices, especially the presidency,” said the court.

Griffin took the X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to share his thoughts on the court’s decision and ruling.

“Very disappointed. I don’t even know what to say. But I thank you for your prayers and for standing with me through this,” Griffin wrote in the post.

It is interesting that the same strategy that worked for Trump did not work for Griffin.

Why do you think this is?
