Super PAC Never Back Down launches ad campaign targeting Donald Trump's gun record

Super PAC Never Back Down, which is backing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for President in 2024, has launched an ad campaign attacking former President Donald Trump for his questionable support of American's 2nd Amendment rights.

The campaign went live ahead of Trump's speech at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum where DeSantis is also slated to speak.

The ad says, "Trump promised NRA members he’d have their back. But when Second Amendment rights came under attack, Trump abandoned us and stood with liberal Democrats."

The spot went on to play clips of Trump saying, "Half of you are so afraid of the NRA, We have to fight them every once in a while, that’s OK. Some of you people are petrified of the NRA. You can’t be petrified. They have great power over you people. They have less power over me. I don’t need them. What do I need?"

The ad also attacked Trump for his support of "red flag laws," which would allow government authorities to seize weapons from people with mental health problems.

While DeSantis has yet to declare if he is running for president in 2024, Never Back Down is going on the offensive and holding Trump accountable for his suspect 2nd Amendment record.
