State Department won't confirm that Blinken involved in discrediting Hunter Biden laptop

Following testimony from former deputy CIA Director Michael Morell, the State Department has refused to confirm or deny that Anthony Blinken, then a Biden campaign adviser and now secretary of State, asked him to get ex-intelligence officials to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop in a letter before the 2020 presidential election.

State Department Deputy Press Secretary Vedant Patel responded to inquiries about Blinken's alleged actions by saying, “It is not a State Department issue, and I don’t really have a comment on this from the State Department.”

He would not say who in the government could give a comment about the testimony.

Patel also worked on the Biden campaign.

Instead of how the letter by former intelligence officials was presented, as a national security concern about "Russian disinformation," it turns out that it was really an attempt (a successful one) by the candidate to censor damaging information about him and his family.

Blinken now has until May 4 to answer questions from the House Oversight Committee and provide more information about his actions.
