South Korean Opposition Leader Stabbed In Neck

 January 3, 2024

South Korea’s opposition leader, Lee Jae-myung, has been stabbed in the neck by an unidentified man in what appears to have been an assassination attempt.

Lee was walking through a crowd when the unthinkable happened.

A man with a knife walked up to Lee and asked for an autograph.

Busan police officer Sohn Jae-han confirmed that’s when the attacker stabbed Lee in the left side of his neck.

Lee was rushed into emergency surgery in Busan and later airlifted to a hospital in Seoul.

Police have confirmed Lee was awake and coherent after the attack and was not in critical condition from the stabbing.

The attack is being called “a terrorist attack on Lee and a serious threat to democracy” by Lee’s Democratic party.

No matter how you feel about someone’s political opinions, violence should never be an option.

We pray for a swift recover for Lee and for peace in South Korea.
