South Dakota tribe bans Gov. Kristi Noem from reservation after comments on border

 February 5, 2024

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has been banned from the Pine Ridge Reservation in her home state after commenting on the border crisis and saying she wants to send troops and razor wire to help Texas lock down the border.

Noem has been banished from the lands of the Oglala Sioux Tribe as confirmed by a statement from the tribe's president, Frank Star.

Star stated, "Due to the safety of the Oyate, effective immediately, you are hereby Banished from the homelands of the Oglala Sioux Tribe!"

He went on to say, "They don't need to be put in cages, separated from their children like during the Trump Administration, or be cut up by razor wire furnished by, of all places, South Dakota."

The misinformation that Star is repeating is startling, and the outrage amounts to little more than misguided animosity toward Noem, who has become a favorite target of liberals due to her rising political fortunes.

Noem is one of the strongest candidates to become former President Donald Trump's running mate, and he recently named her specifically during an interview with Fox News.
