The South Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled to uphold the death penalty in that state, including death by firing squad.

Other methods of capital punishment in the state include lethal injection and the electric chair.

The ruling in favor of upholding the death penalty was unanimous.

Two of the five justices disagreed with using a firing squad to execute inmates, which is why more humane options were included.

The state has not actually put anyone to death since 2011 because it has encountered difficulty obtaining the drugs needed for lethal injections.

South Carolina has 32 inmates on death row, but most of them are appealing their convictions.
