Some House Republicans signaling defiance of Trump support of Mike Johnson
There's a lot of controversy surrounding Speaker of the House Mike Johnson right now.
Many Republicans are FURIOUS at the way Johnson handled America's potential shutdown just before Christmas.
As a result, it's a serious question about whether or not Mike Johnson is going to remain speaker of the House of Representatives.
Things were getting so dire for Johnson that Donald Trump felt the need to step up and try to bail him out.
"Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man," Trump said on social media. "He will do the right thing, and we will continue to WIN. Mike has my Complete & Total Endorsement."
The endorsement was desperately needed by Johnson, but will it be enough?
At least two Republicans, Rep. Thomas Massie from Kentucky and Rep. Victoria Spartz from Indiana, have already come out to say that they're still not supporting Johnson regardless of what Trump wants them to do.
"I understand why President Trump is endorsing Speaker Johnson as he did Speaker Ryan, which is definitely important. However, we still need to get assurances that Speaker Johnson won’t sell us out to the swamp," Representative Spartz wrote on social media.
President Trump will be able to save America only if we have a speaker with courage, vision and a plan - also public commitment to the American people how he will help deliver President Trump’s agenda to drain the swamp.

Will Johnson still have enough support to retain the gavel even without these two?
It's going to be close, but only time will tell.
