Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) said that she has stopped attending Democrat lunches because they are "dumb" events where "old men are eating Jell-O" and "everyone is talking about how great they are."

"I don’t really need to be there for that. That’s an hour and a half twice a week that I can get back," Sinema, who recently left the Democrat party but still aligns with them for committee purposes, said.

"I’m not caucusing with the Democrats," Sinema said.

Instead of attending the lunches, "I spend my days doing productive work, which is why I’ve been able to lead every bipartisan vote that’s happened the last two years," Sinema said at a meeting with GOP lobbyists.

Sinema is an equal opportunity critic. She recently criticized Republicans for heckling President Joe Biden during his State of the Union speech.

"Everyone is raucous, and I was worried people were going to start throwing hotdogs and popcorn at each other," Sinema said during a Washington Post Live broadcast of the speech. "To be honest, I find it beneath the dignity of the United States Congress. And what I find most disturbing about it, is the fact that it’s normalized."
