Attorney Sidney Powell was one of the three most vocal Americans, along with Rudy Giuliani and Trump himself who contended that the 2020 election had been stolen.
She was accused of very similar things on which they are trying to nail Trump.
So, this news could be either good or bad for the former president.
Powell did plead guilty, which is bad news for Trump. This will mean that public perception will be that all of them are guilty. However, Powell was given no jail time, which is good news for Trump.
For Powell to remain out of jail will give hope to conservatives that Trump can do the same.
The outspoken lawyer pleaded guilty because the fallout was considerably lesser than what it would have been if she were found guilty by a jury that would likely have been comprised largely of Democrats.
According to the bargain, "Powell will receive six years probation and be forced to pay a $6,000 fine in addition to $2,700 in restitution to the state."
