Several Democrats are expected to retire ahead of 2024 election cycle, total nightmare for Joe Biden

 February 20, 2023

Six Democrats are expected to retire ahead of what is looking to be a brutal 2024 election cycle for Democrats. The party is hoping to defend its hold on the White House and the Senate, and a wave of retirements will complicate that.

So far, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) have confirmed they will be retiring.

Stabenow's seat will be competitive and represents a huge opportunity for Republicans who are hoping to take advantage of Democrat failings to take back power.

Senator Bob Casey (D-PN) is also expected to retire ahead of the 2024 election, as he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December. While it isn't set in stone, there is strong speculation that he will retire which will give Republicans another strong opportunity in a purple state.

Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Senator Tom Carper (D-DE), and Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) are all major question marks for the Democrat party.

Losing the House of Representatives in 2022 was already a major blow to President Biden's administration. Losing the Senate would be catastrophic especially if Republicans are able to unseat him and retake the White House.
