Sen. Chris Coons says Biden administration must respect Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity

 June 24, 2024

Sen. Chris Coons (D-DL) suggested President Biden will respect the Supreme Court’s forthcoming ruling on presidential immunity despite a growing campaign from leftists to delegitimize the conservative-majority high court.

Coons appeared for an interview on Fox News Sunday, during which he responded to a question on whether the Biden administration would respect the Supreme Court's decision on presidential immunity no matter the outcome.

This question was inspired by the Biden administration's past scuffles with the Supreme Court and the outright defiance of an order from the high court declaring student loan forgiveness plans unconstitutional.

The Biden administration has defied the court in the past, and it's worth wondering if they would do so again. However, Coons believes that Biden will respect the decision based on his handling of his own son's criminal conviction.

Coons attempted to paint a picture of Biden as some great respecter of the law because he is accepting Hunter Biden's guilty findings. But as mentioned earlier, Biden has also defied the Supreme Court on many occasions.

Biden will likely accept the Supreme Court's decision, but that will have nothing to do with Biden having respect for our institutions. Rather, Biden may need to rely on presidential immunity to protect himself should he lose the election in November.
