Senate Republicans blame Trump for scuttling 'delicate' immigration deal

Senate Republicans including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) are blaming former President Donald Trump for scuttling a "delicate" immigration deal with Democrats because he doesn't want to see President Joe Biden get a campaign victory.

Of course, Trump's outspoken RINO critics are all-too-happy to jump on the bandwagon of blame even though GOP House Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) has already declared the deal "dead on arrival" to the House.

“I think the border is a very important issue for Donald Trump. And the fact that he would communicate to Republican senators and congresspeople that he doesn’t want us to solve the border problem because he wants to blame Biden for it is … really appalling,” Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) said.

But since when has he ever had anything good to say about Trump?

McConnell is fairly desperate to get some kind of deal because immigration has been tied to Ukraine aid by some in Congress.

The deal gives away way too much and gets hardly anything in return, so it's no wonder Trump doesn't back it.
