Hawley reveals whistleblower allegations about inadequate Secret Service training
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) told Fox News's Jesse Watters on Tuesday night that whistleblowers have come forward to allege that they received inadequate training before the July 13 rally in Pennsylvania at which former President Donald Trump was shot in the ear along with other events.
Training consisted of a single two-hour session that used pre-recorded videos on Microsoft Teams and which were riddled with technical difficulties.
"Imagine 1,000 people logging onto Microsoft Teams at the same time after being informed at the last minute that everyone needed to login individually," one whistleblower told Hawley. "Once it got rolling, the Secret Service instructor couldn’t figure out how to get the audio working on the prerecorded videos [which I’m told are the same videos as last year]. All told, they restarted the videos approximately six times …. The content was not helpful."
Similarly inadequate training was allegedly provided before other events that needed security, and the videos used have apparently not changed since the rally where Trump was shot.
"Nothing new, nothing improved since the assassination attempt on former President Trump," one whistleblower told Hawley.
"This is a nightmare, the only reason we know about this stuff is because of whistleblowers," Hawley said.
