Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigns
Kimberly Cheatle didn't want to resign as the boss of the U.S. Secret Service, but she was pretty much forced to do just that. She was allowed to retain a semblance of dignity by resigning, but Cheatle was effectively fired.
Cheatle was simply terrible at her job, as evidenced by the fact that she let President Donald Trump get shot in the ear while giving a speech at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Disgustingly, allegations emerged suggesting that Cheatle was diverting resources to first lady Jill Biden, who just happens to be a friend of hers, not to mention the reason she was hired to lead the Secret Service.
Thank goodness Cheatle is gone, as President Trump is probably safer now.
Cheatle let our president take a bullet and allowed one of his supporters to be killed as well, and that simply isn't good enough.
President Trump opined that Cheatle never really had a choice on whether to resign or not, and he thought that her resignation should have come "within an hour -- not nine days, 10 days."
