Secret Service denied requests from Trump for additional security for years: Reports
Secret Service officials have been denying requests for additional security from former President Donald Trump for years according to a bombshell report from the Washington Post.
Following the attempted assassination of Trump last Saturday, all eyes have been on the Secret Service, and that extra scrutiny has led to some shocking discoveries.
Four anonymous insiders told the Post that Trump has requested more agents at large public events he attended and extra snipers for outdoor venues. The Secret Service denied all of these requests, claiming there were no additional resources available.
This revelation comes after allegations that resources were diverted away from Trump last Saturday for an event that first lady Jill Biden was attending in Philidelphia.
That lapse in resources, combined with the inexplicable decision not to secure a building with a view of Trump's stage, almost led to Trump being killed and one rally attendee dying.
So far, it looks like the Secret Service has horrifically managed things for the past few years, and it seems that major reforms are needed to prevent something like this from ever happening again.
