Sean Spicer announced in a YouTube video on Thursday that he is leaving Newsmax and his show Spicer and Co. for an unspecified "new venture" amid speculation that contract talks were falling apart.

“After three-plus amazing years of Spicer and Co., I’m leaving Newsmax to embark on a new project,” Spicer announced.

He said he was “excited about what’s to come” and that his time at Newsmax had "tremendously" grown his audience while giving him “a direct impact on national political and cultural conversations.”

Spicer's final show was Thursday, and he thanked his team and co-workers, saying he planned to continue to expose “false narratives and the hypocrisy the mainstream is pushing … in a brand new way.”

The network also announced the show's departure on Thursday.

“In preparation for new programming, we decided to not continue Spicer & Co. with hosts Lyndsay Keith and Sean Spicer. The network wishes them both well in their new endeavors,” a Newsmax spokesperson said.
