Justice Sonia Sotomayor has no imminent plans to retire: Report

 November 12, 2024

If you've been waiting to hear the verdict on whether Justice Sonia Sotomayor will leave the bench before Donald Trump takes office, your time is here.

Liberals were pressuring Sotomayor to retire before Trump's term begins because they are horrified that she might last in the role until a Democrat is back in the White House and able to pick her successor.

Sotomayor will NOT retire from the Supreme Court before Joe Biden leaves the White House, it has recently emerged.

That means if she passes away, is forced out, or voluntarily leaves the bench while Trump is in office, then it will be up to him to nominate her replacement.

Liberals from all over America didn't wait long after Trump won the election to start pressuring Sotomayor to step down. However, she didn't agree with their stance that it would be the right move.

Surprisingly, Sen. Bernie Sanders even showed surprising scruples on this issue, although he didn't say much.

Sotomayor is NOT going to leave the Supreme Court right now. Depending on when she eventually does depart, it could turn into a HUGE win for Republicans.
