Ron DeSantis Stands Up To Trump

 February 2, 2023

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn't going to let Donald Trump get to him.

Why? Because to Ron, Trump is just the same as all the other haters, regardless of his status as a former president.

He is akin to white noise.

"What I would just say is this: I roll out of bed. I have people attacking me from all angles," noted the governor.

DeSantis is referring to the fact that by becoming as popular as he has, he has ensured that he's going to have not only enemies on the left who disagree with his core values, but also enemies from within his own party who wish to seize the influence he currently possesses. He added:

It’s been happening for many, many years and if you look at the good thing about it though is like if you take a crisis situation like COVID, you know, the good thing about it is when you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions.

The governor then made it clear that he is a man who wins his elections. He isn't going to let the opinions of losers sway him. Even if those losers did happen to previously win in 2016. He added:

The good thing is, is that the people are able to render a judgment on that whether they reelect you or not. Not only did we win reelection, we won with the highest percentage of the vote that any Republican governor candidate has in the history of the state of Florida, almost doubled the previous record, which I think was like 780,000 vote margin.
