Ron DeSantis punches back at Donald Trump setting up the fight for 2024

March 26, 2023

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has spent the past week hitting back at former President Donald Trump, representing the beginning of a massive fight for who will win the Republican nomination for president in 2024.

Trump has been attacking DeSantis openly for weeks while DeSantis has kept quiet for the most part.

All of that ended when DeSantis rejected the notion of being Trump's vice president. DeSantis also took aim at Donald Trump's handling of the pandemic in contrast to his own, which saw Florida lead the charge on ending restrictions.

DeSantis has yet to officially announce his candidacy, but that should change soon, especially as Donald Trump deals with his legal troubles.

Right now, Trump has the upper hand on DeSantis, but that could also change, given that DeSantis has plenty of time to make his case to conservatives around the nation.

DeSantis has a similar political agenda to Trump, and his actions as governor of Florida prove he has what it takes to fight the radical left. The only question is whether Americans want to give Trump another chance to beat President Joe Biden or go with someone younger.
