DeSantis polling strongly in Virginia, a key state for 2024

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is polling strongly in Virginia. to the point where he is tying President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 matchup. These numbers have Democrats panicking and scrambling to reinforce themselves in a key battleground state.

Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), who is running for reelection next year, sounded the alarm by saying, "Democrats can’t afford to lose here."

Kaine sent an email to supporters saying "Virginians know that the road to the White House runs directly through our Commonwealth. With polls showing that Virginia could be one of 2024’s most competitive battlegrounds, NOW is the time to prepare for a fight."

DeSantis is expecting to officially jump into the presidential race next week, and he has Democrats spooked already.

Of course, before DeSantis can defeat Biden in Virginia, he will have to get through former President Donald Trump, who is leading the Republican field by a strong margin.

As for Senator Kaine, he is expected to cruise to reelection, thanks to his safe district. However, the rest of Virginia could very well decide next year's presidential election.
