RFK's brother tells public to 'ignore' decision to endorse Trump
Max Kennedy, the brother of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is practically begging the public to ignore his brother's decision to endorse former President Donald Trump for president in 2024.
“I’m heartbroken over my brother Bobby’s endorsement of Donald Trump,” he wrote in an L.A. Times op-ed. “Robert F Kennedy’s life was dedicated to promoting the safety, security and happiness of the American people.”
RFK suspended his independent presidential campaign on Thursday and appeared at a Trump rally to announce his support for the Republican candidate.
Trump and Kennedy acknowledged that they don't agree on every issue, but Kennedy said during a Fox News interview on Sunday that Trump "invited me to form a unity government.”
Kennedy was polling at around 4% when he suspended his campaign. He was as high as 15% a few months ago.
With a heavy heart, I am today asking my fellow Americans to do what will honor our father the most: Ignore Bobby and support vice-president Kamala Harris and the Democratic platform. It’s what is best for our country," Max Kennedy said.
