Republicans vow to block Biden's agenda after unprecedented Trump verdict

 June 1, 2024

Never before has a sitting or former American president been treated the way Donald Trump has over the last few years.

In fact, the way Democrats have handled Trump's entire situation is essentially what the founding fathers designed our Democracy to prevent.

They're trying to put somebody in jail for his political beliefs. Regardless of which side you support, you have to acknowledge that this is an EXTREMELY slippery slope regarding one of the things that makes us the greatest country in world history.

Unless Democrats are ready to quickly implement a fix to this solution, at least some Republicans are willing to play hardball so that Biden realizes they're serious.

"As a Senate Republican conference, we are unwilling to aid and abet this White House in its project to tear this country apart," Sen. Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah, said in response to Donald Trump's conviction on 34 felony counts.

"Strongly worded statements are not enough. Those who turned our judicial system into a political cudgel must be held accountable. We are no longer cooperating with any Democrat legislative priorities or nominations, and we invite all concerned Senators to join our stand," Lee announced.
