Republicans cry foul after Biden's DOJ drops campaign finance charges against Sam Bankman-Fried

 January 1, 2024

President Joe Biden's Department of Justice appears to have let FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried off easy by dropping campaign finance charges against him and canceling a second trial.

The charges against Bankman-Fried that were dropped included campaign finance violations and bribing foreign officials.

Bankman-Fried was one of the Democrat Party's biggest donors and donated an astounding $5.2 million to President Jpe Biden's presidential campaign in 2020.

The news of the dropped charges didn't sit well with many Republicans, who immediately pointed out the shady circumstances surrounding the decision.

Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) tweeted, "So we won't know which politicians he bribed or who's campaigns he influenced? That collective sigh of relief you are hearing is from the DEEP STATE."

Furthermore, the decision to drop the charges was announced on Friday, suggesting that the DOJ was attempting to downplay the news and disguise it amid the holiday chaos.
